Post by J Miller »

Just got this not 5 minutes ago:
Joseph,
You asked and we listened!
You can now use your FOID card to buy ammunition, air guns and black powder guns at MidwayUSA.

Here is how the process works:

Fax, mail or email (pdf or jpg) a legible copy of your FOID card to:

Email: CustomerService@MidwayUSA.com
Fax: 1-800-992-8312
Mail: Customer Service
MidwayUSA
5875 West Van Horn Tavern Rd.
Columbia, MO 65203

Within 24 hours you will receive an email confirming our receipt of your FOID card. Upon receiving this email you're free to order ammunition, air guns, and black powder guns just like any other product via www.MidwayUSA.com or 1-800-243-3220. Please check your local regulations before ordering.

If you have any questions about this process, please visit www.MidwayUSA.com/FOID or contact us at CustomerService@MidwayUSA.com.

Thanks for Your Business,

President/CEO MidwayUSA
I've never ordered ammo or supplies or black powder guns from anybody, but I'm gonna think on this just in case.

In order to own, possess, purchase, or even look at a gun or ammo in IL a resident has to have a FOID card.
The FOID card is a Firearms Owners IDentification card.

To get it you have to fill out a state form reminiscent of the federal 4473 and submit a drivers license sized photo of yourself. Then the state does a background check and if they like you your issued a FOID card. It's valid for 5 years.

All it does is state you have the states permission to own guns and buy ammo. It does not allow you to carry a gun, or even buy a gun without doing the background check .... again.

From what I've heard, there is only two places that require this kind of ID,
Illinois and Cuba. Both of which are communist states.

I despise the card, but get caught without one and in possession of a gun and your a felon.

Gentlemen: WE DO NOT HAVE ANY GUN RIGHTS ANYMORE.

The Brady bill and the required background checks made them a privilege.

IF YOU HAVE TO ASK PERMISSION TO DO SOMETHING, IT'S NO LONGER A RIGHT. IT HAS BECOME A PRIVILEGE.

We can clamor all we want about saving our 2nd Amd rights, but when we have to endure a Federal or state required background check or when we have to get a "permit" to buy or carry a gun, we've already lost them.

In 1968 the noose of confiscation was put around our necks, each new law just tightens the noose a bit more. All we have been doing to prolong our gun owning is basically squirming and twisting keeping the noose from cinching up.

The IL FOID card, the MA FID card is all just part of the noose.

So, lemme guess, the next step is a tatoo serial number on the forearms of all gun owners...

That wouldn't surprise me.

That nationwide drivers license law the feds got passed a couple years ago will be basically a database for all this kind of information. It's all going into that little black bar on the back.

Honestly I don't know that the next step is. Most likely the McCarthy / NRA collaboration that will strip the vets of their guns. Then who knows what else.

Being from a "border" state to Illinois, is that why I see so many Illinoians up here foundling firearms at the gun outlets? I know both state and federal laws have a special deal for adjacent state purchases, but is it legal to sell a firearm to a person from Illinois from a private party or gun show?

If'n you ever want to get depressed over what we have lost, get a pre '68 copy of "The American Rifleman" and look at the ads,,, esp "Ye Ole Hunter" out of Virginia. In the mid 50's, at 12 years old, I mail ordered my first centerfire rifle and 500 rounds of ammo. The only paper work was a USPO money order for something less than $15 and a note from me telling them what I wanted. I remember picking it up at the Rail Road Express office on my bicycle and stopping on the way home to bust a couple of caps.

Where are we going and why are we in this handbasket.

Snotwad,

Those adds are not just in the American Rifleman, they are in all the old gun magzines.
When I look through my old ones I get sort of excited at what I'm looking at, and then depressed at what we've lost.

Then I can't help but look into the future and wonder what else we'll loose.
