Does anyone know how they did this receiver finish?

I'm sure it's the same as this 92.

This 92 got the 1/4 cock hammer/full length firing pin fire control conversion work and we wanted to weld up the add on tang safety then Turnbull color-case.
Couldn't do it because it's an electroless nickel over a matte finished steel. (Steel polished to about a 400 grit final finish and the color-case doesn't work on it.) Some call it a coin finish or French Grey.
So, the customer op-ed for a silver filler.

I generally see that finish referred to as "coin finish". Not sure how Browning does it, but traditionally, that was a case color hardened finish that was then polished bright. These days there's usually a silver nitride finish applied (which surface-hardens the steel), then is polished.
