Is there anyone here that could make me a few examples each of the early type Winchester carbine front sight bases, and revolver front sight bases like the Colt Flat Top Targets? They are both simple rectangular blocks, radiused for the barrel to be sweated on, and slotted for a blade. I can get measurements. I don't mind paying for them, but having them done at professional shop rates is out of my budget. If someone could do this for a price we can agree on, Id be happy to do it. You could PM me with your thoughts.
I had a local guy that could make them, but he moved away and never set his machines up again. When I asked for a couple, he made a longer length up then cut to length about 5 or 6 of them, he said it was about as easy to do that as make one or two. Ive run out of them and would like a few more.
Examples of the early carbine type sights, page 11 and 13 have good images

The Colt Flat Top Target sights are similar concept, just different dimensions. I have one on a Ruger single action and like it much more than the large ramps they use from the factory.

"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat." -Theodore Roosevelt-

Try Joe Hulett at www.Aperturesnmore.com
If he thinks there's enough demand he'll make a whole bunch.

I know a whole lot about very little and nothing about a whole lot.

FWIW, It's fairly easy to fashion the bases from 5/16", 3/8", or 7/16" square bar stock (which you can buy as short as a 2' length), file/grind the concavity in the end & cut to length (base height) before cutting the sight blade slot with an edge/slot file.

Of course, it'll then need to be soldered to the barrel & (cold) blued.

They are not hard to make, the only issue is that one needs to make a bunch of them just to pay for the tooling. 1/16 in slitting saw, and a quality 5/8 or 3/4 ball end mill, you're at $75-$100 not counting labor.

Mike is right +1
I would start with quality steel to begin with so soldering and bluing would not be an issue.
