Winchester 1894AE Trapper 44 Mag

Ok folks, I performed a search for threads on a Trapper in 44 magnum but only saw lots of discussion on .357 and .30-30's.
If there are some threads out there I'm certainly in the market to learn how to search more effectively.

I believe my Trapper was built in the 80's but does not have a tang or push type safety but it does have a rebounding hammer.
It has a 16" barrel and shots factory 240 gr loads without beating up my shoulder.

If anyone has one and worked up a hand load for it might they share it?

I'm also curious was to what kind of groups it will do.

A bit late to this thread as usual, and not a direct answer to your question, but I have an early 94AE Trapper in .45 Colt.

One of the most accurate loads I've found for mine is Elmer Keith's load using his bullet and 2400 powder.
If you don't want to spend the big bucks on jacketed bullets, slug the bore of your rifle and order some 250 Keith SWCs about .002" larger than grove diameter. Load them over 2400 powder and give it a try.
I am not a great fan of the .44 Mag so I can't quote Keith's powder charge. That can be found in "Sixguns by Keith", "Hell I Was There" or copies of his Guns and Ammo articles.
