Four for Four!

Post by Ysabel Kid »

Monday night I had the pleasure of attending an Eagle Board of Review with a young man in our scout troop. What made this extra special for me was that his family are close personal friends of ours, and he is the last of the quartet who crossed over with my son from Webelos into Boy Scouts - the last to earn the coveted rank of Eagle Scout!!! :D :D :D

That makes four for four. All four of them earned the Eagle rank. Quite an accomplishment when only 4% of lads in scouting ever earn scouting's highest rank.

I made a promise to the fathers of these boys that I would ensure they stayed on course to complete their goal. He just graduated high school, along with his buddies, and fortunately has a few months before aging out (at 18). My son and the other two have all turned 18 and already aged-out (of the youth side of scouting).

The young man's father is on the far left; I am between him and the Eagle himself, and the gentleman on the right is our Troop Committee Chair. This was taken by his Mom when we got back to the troop meeting Monday night after his EBOR.

His Eagle date was the 72nd anniversary of D-Day!

:D :D :D

Congratulations, Kid! Dad was an Eagle and so was I. It has meant a lot to me over the course of a lifetime. Philmont memories complete the picture.

Very good for him and his efforts. I would have liked to have gone to Philmont.

Very impressive Kid .............good quality patriotic Americans. These are the kind of individuals that made this country great and hopefully, will be looked up to and followed by others to be of good moral character.

You've heard me here. I don't think I could censor myself enough, nor would I want to. A solid majority of the population would never vote for me (and I'm proud of that!)
