9mm 147gr Xtreme Plated Bullet Length, Please
I have contacted Xtreme bullets by e-mail but no answer is forthcoming so far. I need the bullet length (like something near .670 inch) of this projectile:
Xtreme Copper Plated 9mm 147 grain bullets
If somebody has this bullet and a micrometer handy, could you please help? I need some info before deciding whether to order this round for practice ammo. Thank you in advance -

Nor can I.BlaineG wrote:My Google Foo is excellent, and I can't find a thing......
Oh, well. I'm going to the range at least once a month now to master this little 9mm hideout gun so I just ordered 500 147 grainers. There is a special, and .0896 cents per bullet with this relatively small order bullet (that includes shipping) is a good price for decent 147 grain plated 9's.
I'll work out a load when I get 'em.

Yes. My reason is that I enter the actual bullet size into QuickLoad, with the COAL, to see if I can work up a safe load with my existing powders. I have several propellants on hand but don't want to be forced to buy another one; and right now the local stores don't stock a lot of different pistol powders. Purchasing powder online in bulk (to defray shipping and Hazmat costs per load) is not indicated until I know if the powder is right for me.BlaineG wrote: I DID see some OAL figures for loaded product.....
QuickLoad has several tables for bullets, but I have had to create one for XTreme bullets and others. As you know, pressure can spike quickly if the bullet is compressed. Once I get a bullet, I note its actual measurement for future computations - another step that saves me from having to run out to the range just to get a starting load going. I live in a rural area, but in a city, so I can't just walk outside and shoot as in the good ol' days when I was a youngster living in the mountains.

Hope this helps!

Just curious, but is the xtreme bullet developed by Grizzly Cartridge a few years back?
If so, I still have few loaded .458 ones left over from testing them in my .45-90.

Those are a different animal. Grizzly makes the Xtreme line of all copper bullets that expand drastically.crs wrote:Just curious, but is the xtreme bullet developed by Grizzly Cartridge a few years back?
X-treme or Xtreme is a company that manufactures and sells various bullets that include copper plated lead bullets.
One is a company's line of bullets, one is actually the company name. The Grizzly line is quite expensive, and the Xtreme plated bullets are on the opposite end of the price spectrum - about 8 cents each for the 9mm 147 grain plated product.
