Get out of the office early and head to the range!

I wish! I get to "celebrate" my birthday today by half a day of work, followed by emergency dental surgery. Seems I've cracked not one but two teeth. Well, cracked one and chipped off part of another. Going in for two crowns, or a crown and a root canal, this afternoon.
This getting old stuff is not for the feint of heart. Almost everything is falling apart!
After spending more than 5 g's, I eventually had em all yanked out. Toothaches are now a thing of the past.
An old timer told me (who could well afford dental work) that after root canals, caps, appointments, pain, pain, pain, and seeing them go bad after a few years told his dentist, "new policy Mr. Dentist....fill it or pull it."----6
Thanks fellas. I survived the dentist. I can see why many people avoid these guys. To make matters worse, I have a very slow reaction to Novocain. My dentist did a great job though. The pain wasn't as bad as I expected. The smell of teeth being ground down is no picnic, and I still have a headache from the sheer noise. Temporary crowns are in place, and I get the permanent ones in a few weeks. In the meantime, I can't eat anything chewy, sticky, crunchy or hard. Not that I feel like any solid food today. Feels like I was on the receiving end of a roundhouse punch to each jaw (one tooth was my upper left side and the other my lower right). That, or a kick from a donkey!
