Back to Levers.

Post by gamekeeper »

I had a couple of FTF with my Magtech 7022 aka Mossberg702. So I decided it was time for a strip down and through clean. Well easy enough but fiddly, I ran a few CCI mini mags through it and then some sub sonics, seemed fine. When I put it back in the safe I saw my neglected 9422 just asking to be taken out, its not been used since I bought the little plastic semi auto  so anyway I loaded the Winchester and headed for the barn, it shot a clover leaf group on the end of a log, leaving me to wonder why I ever bought the semi auto in the first place...
It is screwcut for a suppressor, which comes in handy sometimes but I don't really like using it unless I have to.
My trusty Winchester.

I recently bought a 9422. Great .22 rifle. I use the CB rounds in my backyard and it's quieter than a pellet gun.

Jkbrea, how's it going? That Colt SAA still running? Gamekeeper, you fellers say "screwcut". And we say "threaded". Interesting the slight differences in language. Fun to hear...thanks for keeping it true to the mother language.
This is plagiarized from someone else, but I love it!

I was born a gun owner.
It wasn't a choice.
I didn't become one later in life.
I was born this way.

That's a nice one John!

Glad to hear you got her out for some shooting... And it's great to see a "levergun" thread again too!

What's really sad to see though, is the "Location" listed in your header -- what a shame...

You're welcome here in Maine ANY time, just come on over.

Nice 9422 GK, but i gotta say, I like the "Rover". Is it a series 1?

Thanks OldWin, the Land Rover is one of the first series two, SWB safari. It sadly was not mine, it was just rotting away in a barn, where I used to live :(
When I was a fulltime gamekeeper I was supplied with two Landrovers a 1950 S1 & a 1965 S2, later I bought my own 1956 series one which I still regret selling.
The Winchester is a keeper..... :)

Thank you my friend.

Being an old four wheeler, I have always had a soft spot for the old Land Rovers. They were an excellent rig.
The "Brit's Jeep" was first rate. I seem to remember reading somewhere the Land Rover was the first motor vehicle
one third of the earth's population ever saw. Most impressive.

Anyway, sorry for the thread drift. Glad you kept you Winchester. Its nice and minty.
