Ok, time to get plunk yourself down your butts in front of your computer. And, fire off an email to the sales dept. at Hornady. In a fit of generosity I gave away my last box of .375 220gr Hornady FPs... (thought I two boxes of 50... nope, one box of 100).
I sent them a message last nite... here's the response I got back:
Thank you for your email. We are very sorry for the inconvenience this has caused for all of you. We will pass this information along and see if it something we may need to reconsider. We appreciate your support of our products!
Pricing on this ain't cheap, being a limited use item, it'll likely remain so... but I happen to really like this bullet. In fact, it's the ONLY bullet my 375 Marlin has ever been fed... More demands that we NEED this product may help. Or it may not. But, I'm not buying any more Hornady until they do! (I think)... And no, I didn't tell them that!

FYI, it no longer appears in their catalog. Dagnabit, it's still in my reloading manuals... (Hornady's latest also), it should still be out on dealers shelves!!! If WE don't ask, they can't say "Yes"!!!!

Ugh, and double Ugh....It just came to my attention that you no longer carry the 220 grain FP..... There's a big market for those out there for peeps that like to hunt with their .375 Winchester, and 38-55 rifles....

If you look up that bullet, it's a pointy one, so I sent this back to them, a tad sarcastically....
Sheesh.....I hope you realize that most .375 Winchesters, and 38-55s are LEVER action, and need flat points....*shaking my head*
You should seriously rethink this answer, or ask what kind of rifle people are using before giving a dangerous answer.

That's me too, 95% of the time. I like to have other options too though. At least the 200 gr. Sierra has been available, and I stocked up on a few of those. I really like that bullet in my Contender.

I 'spect you're right...I plan to try some in my 375 Ruger and see how they do at 2700 fps or so but they aren't ones I expect to expand unless I shoot bricks with them.
The same company makes some for the Guide Gun presumably for dangerous game.
Woah there... if that is an all-brass bullet it may be illegal to possess. Check with ATE for any monolithic bullet made of their LIST of prohibited materials. Not here to argue, but we once made some machined solids for hunting and got a visit/cease "request" from ATF Phoenix.

ATF definition of Armor Piercing ammo, as per 18 USC 921(a)(17)(B):
(B) The term “armor piercing ammunition” means –
(i) a projectile or projectile core which may be used in a
handgun and which is constructed entirely (excluding the presence
of traces of other substances) from one or a combination of
tungsten alloys, steel, iron, brass, bronze, beryllium copper, or
depleted uranium; or
(ii) a full jacketed projectile larger than .22 caliber
designed and intended for use in a handgun and whose jacket has a
weight of more than 25 percent of the total weight of the
projectile.
Emphasis mine. -just because you don't HAVE a handgun in .375, doesn't guarantee some agent won't think you do...

....one of the problems with 'gun regulations' is just this - you get the EPA saying projectiles can't have lead, then you get the ATF saying that if they aren't at least 75% lead, or have any other 'bad-no-no' stuff in them, that they are illegal.
....a cynic might just say all these conflicting rules are intentional....
