The Ruger Switcharoo

Post by Panzercat »

New for 2016, the Ruger Switcharoo.

The long story short here is a pistol capable of .357 and .22 by simply rotating the barrel. At first I though You fired rounds from either the 12 or 6 oclock position, but there's a sight on the bottom barrel as well. Push the button and rotate the correct barrel to match the caliber. The biggest drawback appears to be your load shrinks from six to three of any one caliber, as seen in the bottom picture.

Further details can be found at the above link, but I think I may be getting a thumb lever for kicks and giggles.

Here's the article, but I'm thinking tongue-in-cheek...

http://www.realguns.com/articles/785.htm

....however I like where they describe the rifling..."At mid barrel, just when the bullet thinks it is settled in, the rifling reverses direction, causes the bullet to pause, reflect and shake off its complacency before taking off like a coyote that sat on an ant hill. Hence the big time boost in velocity"

However, I would like a revolver like the old LeMatt, with either a big cylinder of 'plinking' rounds and a single-shot separate under-barrel in 45 Colt or 20 gauge, or conversely a normal cylinder of 45 Colt or 44 Mag, and a single-shot for 22 WMR or such.

Yeah, not quite sure what to make of this... Or the price tag.

Not to be outdone, and following on the heels of the immense popularity of the "Judge". Taurus released the "Executioner".

Wasn't there something like this in a Matt Helm movie starring Dean Martin?
