My bride told me to "Go and buy any SIG you want..." after getting the new job a month ago. I elected to get a P226, as that's the flagship in the Classic line, and I chose the Elite Stainless version in 9mm. The Elite Stainless is billed as "The next generation P226 and features an ergonomic beavertail grip, front cocking serrations, front strap checkering, custom wood grips and the new Short Reset Trigger or SRT."
Here she is... The production date was just 20 days before I picked her up at my local FFL's shop, two days before Christmas: The SRT trigger (for SA reset after the first DA shot) is simply awesome, as it's 60% shorter for faster trigger return (vs a standard 226) and it's designed to help enhanced trigger control during high speed shooting. This is a heavy piece (42 ounces, unloaded with a mag) but that makes it very controllable and easy to shoot. I put 100 rounds through her yesterday -- with flawless performance and awesome accuracy for a fixed-sight handgun -- and I am totally hooked! I am already planning for my 2nd and 3rd SIGs, and very likely some more after that too... We'll see...
