This is one of those vintage Winchester lost records (fire) 1943 to 1948 numbers.
By my math calculations it's a vin. 1943.
First 4 of the serial # 1312.

I know it doesn't lesson the pain,
but I'm sure most of us have done the same not so smart thing.

As a matter of fact, and I hate to admit this, I just got around to getting to the range with this one last week. I've had this one since early January of this year.
Open sights at 50 yards with almost 55 year old eye's turned out to be acceptable.
I'll post a picture.

I have since given it a good cleaning and bumped the rear sight a hair to the right.
Next week another trip to the range to check for improvement.
I really don't think this one had very many rounds run through it.

I bought mine new I think about 1956. I would have been 15 years old. I soon had the pad put on for LOP and a williams foolproof. I shot a number of deer with it and relagated it to the safe for many years as I have many more "sophisticated" rifles. A couple years ago I took it to the bench and was again surprised of the accuracy. I have had that gun for almost 60 years and have never had to readjust the peep. I believe I once killed a buck at a measured 220 paces with it.



This is a model 64 30-30 mfg about 1953 to 1955. It looked unfired when I bought it in the 1970`s. I might have put at the most one or two box's through it trying it out.



I cant recall if I shot this buck with my 94 or a shotgun as I lived in Wisconsin and some county's were shotgun only. I shot deer with both, but I was about that age when I bought it. I recall paying I think, $65 for it.

The 1943 with the 2" beyond the barrel band.
And the 1961 with 3/4" beyond the barrel band.

An old 94 carbine is just something to look at and handle. When I open the safe all the lever guns are on the first row and a 94 is what I always pick up first, usually the 1939.

I'm like the rest, I don't know the year they stopped using them. I had a 1947 flat band with the long forend get away from me like a dummy. (sold it) I didn't really know how scarce they were.

Believe it or not they're less than 2 months old.
I wear them every day. I'm really liking them.
I wasn't sure about the no nose pads, bridge only.
Very lightweight and comfortable. They were rather pricey though.
I'm into the vintage look so I don't mind spending a little more to get the look
