My uncle dropped off some books that belonged to my Grandfather and Great uncle.
These are all in great condition. Lyman 44th edition that's dated 1967. A Speer Manual dated 1961.
A first edition of Jack O'Conner's " The Rifle Book" from 1949 and the best one is a Third Edition from 1949
sent to my grandfather's brother from grandpa's former Border Patrol partner George Parker also dater 1949,
"Complete Guide to Handloading" by Phillip B. Sharpe.
Big pile of Handloading history in one afternoon. Can't wait to read this stuff!!

I picked up a like new copy of the Sharpe book several years ago. It is a fantastic reference even today. Just the pictures of the various tools are worth having the book.

I have an old copy of Sharpe's book myself.
A great reference, even today, and entertaining as well.
Enjoy it!

What a great gift. Love reading the "real" books from my youth. Does the Lyman have pics of all their molds in it?
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

It does. Still has the post card requesting a new catalog!
What I love is how things have changed. In between the loads for .222 Rem and the .222 Remington Magnum is a brief
listing for the .223/ 5.56 Remington. " Inasmuch as bolt action, target are not available for this cartridge, test accuracy was somewhat limited". All testing was done with an AR-15 rifle.
Lots of stuff like that. Way Cool!!
