This is what 6 Deployments since 9/11 looks like...
I have a good friend who is a NAVY SEA-BEE, he just returned from his 6th deployment in an active war zone since 9/11/2001 (he thinks he has more combat experience than his two WWII Vet Grandfathers combined). He put all of his new ribbons together and took this photo...when he comes to visit me in a month I'm buying him the biggest steak dinner ever... :)

Story to tell him about one of those WWII "grandfathers"... My next-door-neighbor as a kid growing up was a SeeBee in WWII. He used to tell about this island where his SeeBee unit was sent to repair or rebuilt the airstrip after the Marines cleared the island. They landed, went to work... took some fire and finished off both the combatants and the airstrip. They were then playing cards in a hut near the airfield when the Marines burst in to "take" the island from the Japanese... After the Navy bombed the place, either their bombing was a lot more effective than thought or, apparently the Japanese cleared out ahead of schedule and Marines landed behind!

1892,
It's been many decades since I saw them, but my fathers WW II ribbons were about a third of his. I wish I had them as he was on an LST off the coast of France during the invasion on D-Day.
Now my question is, what does your friend use to counter balance the weight of those ribbons?
Thank him for all the service he's given.

Please send him my thanks for his service! My son-in-law is also career Navy, and has too many in country missions to count. Seems like for awhile he was over there every other month, and we never knew when he was leaving, or when he'd return. The last couple years have really slowed down for him, and my daughter is much happier with his present routine!
