Got the guns, got the holsters, now I need a belt.

Post by flightsimmer »

I've been shopping for a gun belt.
What I would like to get is a belt like John Wayne used in several of his movies.
That is, a rough side out 2-1/2" wide money belt in natural leather color.
El Paso leather has one but not rough side out. I guess I could specify rough side out but is there anybody that makes a copy of John Wayne belt?

It looks good to me. I like the fact that it isn't a hollywood gunfighter style. Those ones that need tied down to your leg are useless for riding. The design that the link brings up would work well for wearing while on horseback, or even doing chores, at least in my opinion.

The nice folks at Rocking K can make you anything you want. Their work is great and relatively fast.

.

I would respectfully suggest contacting the owner of Leathergun Leather Works, mentioning leverguns.com, as he is/was a fellow leverguns.com board member (maybe 'former member" - he hasn't posted since he's gotten his company off the ground).

While his website doesn't particularly show exactly what you want, he might be able to accommodate your wants, or point you in the right direction if he's can't.

I must have skipped over this one thinking it was a belt and holster set.
Yes, this is what I was looking for, thanks.

I'm looking to wear my Hartford, SAA on the right side and my Cimarron Arms, model "P" Jr. on the left in a cross draw fashion.

I won a $50 gift certificate to El Paso Saddlery and used it to help finance the purchase of their "Shootist" roughout belt. I really like it as it stays where you put it due to the roughout leather.
