One thing about gophers, their good at making more gophers!
And its gopher making time Even prairie dogs, I prefer to wait until the younguns are half grown and then its open season. You pop the small ones when they are just out of the hole and really stupid or pop their parents while the pups are still too young to fend for themselves and you just limit your future targets. Of course some ranch owners and I have different goals
Looks warm there. I'm still looking a brown grass and snow patches, along with naked trees. Should be seeing some green in about a month.
Kirk: An old geezer who loves the smell of freshly turned earth, old cedar rail fences, wood smoke, a crackling fireplace on a snowy evening, pristine wilderness lakes, the scent of
cedars and a magnificent Whitetail buck framed in the semi-buckhorn sights of a 120-year old Winchester. Blog: https://www.kirkdurston.com/
Yea Shrapnel.....I know what you mean. For me, it's 215 days at the plant, (9 weeks off...paid) 148 days playing, and a couple days reserved for funerals and doing what others want to do.
I tell ya, life ain't easy sometimes.
In a little over a year, I will have about 363 days a year for playing and two days for "other issues" ----6

30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres
250 Savage... its what the 223 wishes it could be...!
Looks like a waste of a good day for shooting woodchucks or gophers. Hopefully in a month if the weather cooperates, I will be out shooting some woodchucks.
