Real men don't cry

Except when they watch this commercial for Sainsbury's a U.K. supermarket.
And as most of you know, the story is true.

Want to wish everyone on earth, friend and foe, the true spirit of Christmas in their hearts, even if for but a few hours.

Thanks Bill, both of My Grandfathers served in WW 1. I have Tom's Bible and shaving kit , and Oliver's Colt 1911 .45acp. They will both bring You to TEARS... The Colt despite having a crack in the magazine still shoots like new. Both of these fine Gent's rarely spoke of what happened... "over there".

My Uncle Mac was at the Bulge...It stressed him enough that he lost about half his hair over night. He didn't talk much either, but about 1982 he shot himself.... :( No one whatsoever saw that one coming.....

My maternal grandfather served in France during WWI. I never heard him say anything about it but years after his death my grandmother framed his pictures and medals and gave it me. In it is his pay book and various other things. She also gave me various pieces of trench art that had been made out of artillery shell casings. After my dad died my mom made me a similar one for me as my dad was a Marine in WWII. Needless to say I treasure them both.

Sad to think about how many lives were needlessly lost. Very interesting article in Saturday's wall street journal about the Christmas truce. I believe it would have been over if left to the common man.
