Not a Lever gun

Post by wolfdog »

But I have wanted a Mannlicher stocked rifle for a long while. I also have wanted a double set trigger rifle (other than my BP Rifles). I love the 6.5x55 for whitetail hunting and target shooting. Traded a Ruger Mark II target for this sporterized M-94 Sweede.

I am happy with it, and hope to find out how well it shoots this weekend.

Nice rifle, those stocks are classy. The 6.5MM caliber is getting real popular around here. Those loooong bullets do offer some advantages. Congrats

A Ruger .22 Auto Pistol ?

You did well !

When I had my 6.5x55 Winchester Model 70 Featherweight, I used Norma 156gr Oryx loads to drop large Maine whitetails on the spot.

It's a great cartridge, good for most anything, except maybe big Brown/Kodiak/Polar Bear.

Double sets and Mannlicher stock, the caliber is just a bonus. Happy shooting
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

250 Savage... its what the 223 wishes it could be...!

Not quite new to the family, I have 3 other Sweedes and a rifle/shotgun combo in 6.5 x 55 and 12 gauge, and a .264 Win Mag built on a commercial 98 mauser action.

What a beautiful rifle. I love the Swedish rifles, which are chambered in my favorite European military cartridge, and I really like the mannlicher stocks. If it were mine, I would be tempted to replace the bolt handle with a spoon-type bolt handle.

Very very nice it however may need a much more worthy scope. Have a huge soft spot for the 6.5 Swede. It is actually very close to being a 7mm!

It'll shoot, 120 grain NBT over Re19. Have to get a better scope for sure.
