Re: Book: 'In The Gravest Extreme'
I read it back in the 80s or 90s. I should probably pull it off the shelf and re-read it just to see how out of date it might (or might not) be.

Years ago.

Let me look around. If I still have it I will send it to you.

Another good one in the same vein is "Shooting Back - The right and duty of self defense" by Charl van Wyk

Re: Book: 'In The Gravest Extreme'
Not only have I read it, I have an autographed copy, from when Massad and I were speakers at the 2001 SAF Banquet [ ].
It is a GREAT book, and I have a couple copies I keep around as 'loaners' - I tell anyone who is buying their first gun or considering CCW, they must read it.

Re: Book: 'In The Gravest Extreme'
I read that book about twenty years ago. It was very good and well written. Someone loaned it to me. I should buy a copy and re-read it . Funny, I was just thinking about it the other day.
"Oh bother", said Pooh, as he chambered another round.

Re: Book: 'In The Gravest Extreme'
It is more about mind-set and 'attitude' than shooting tips, and in fact, the whole premise could be described as a "How-to Guide on NOT shooting your CCW piece, and what-to-do guide IF you still wind up having to draw and/or shoot".
It makes clear the reason 99.9% of CCW individuals are far more DIFFICULT to get 'fighting mad' than those who don't carry firearms.

Re: Book: 'In The Gravest Extreme'
What doc said.
I think it's a must read for anybody even thinking of getting a gun
for self-defense. The author touches on what happens AFTER a
shooting, and why you should really, really try to avoid one. On
the other hand, he tells it like it is when describing the dangers
of a criminal's mindset.
Recommended.

I apologize. I looked everywhere for the book and cannot find it. I must have loaned it out and never got it back. Sorry about that.

Good book, I have read it and given away a few copies and use it in weapons classes when I teach.
