Pics of my marlin

Post by handirifle »

I can't remember if it was here or the marlin owners forum, but someone wanted pics of my 1895GS with the spray on bedliner stock.

Ring a bell?

I really don't like this part of getting old. :?

I believe that MAY have been ME. I saw some pictures of an 1894SS with a stock sprayed in black bed liner and it was impressive. After buying an 1894SS I think I will leave it au naturale...(natural wood). However, if I decide to go black and never go back...pun intended...(Oh Grow Up...We're MOSTLY adults)....then I would like to see your black levergun.

BRB,

ClayBob's signature just reminded me I forgot to do something today!
Can I just hug the parts on the bench or should I open the safe?

I can't credit for this fine work, previous owner did it, but truthfully, it wasn't mine either, before.

Now that I have it I love it. I have synthetic stocked rifles and this feels much more substantial.

I like nice wood, but hate to scratch it. Not worried about this one at all.

At first glance that looks like the Ram Line plastic stocks. But up close it really doesn't look too bad at all.

How about a mat blued Win 94 with a bed liner painted stock as a truk gun?

Like maybe that beater that JimT was selling? Ooooooo, makes me all a quiver ........ Sorry, I'm up too early today.

Yea this stuff is amazing. It's as, if not more, durable than synthetic but quieter. You don't get the hollow "scratchy" sound in the brush.

The first time I saw one of these was when a man living in Alaska posted pictures on another thread. I'll see if I can find the one I am thinking about.

How does the checkering feel? Mine isn't very sharp to begin with. Maybe I'll cut it a little deeper first.

I'm gonna do the bed liner on my GS stock, and I'm gonna spray the metal with brownell's alumahyde.

I like it a lot. I did the same to my H&R 20ga. Very unobtrusive. I painted the metal with black non-gloss paint, so I have a "black shotgun".
