LETTERS FROM ELMER KEITH
A Half Century of Advice on Guns, Ammo, Handloading, Hunting, and Other Pursuits

Image

Mine showed up yesterday, worth it just for the first couple of letters about selling a Sharps rifle in 1924 ... for $25.

Thanks!
Elmer's new book just flew to the top of my "must have" list.

I have it. I got a copy for 35 bucks or so. Really lets you in how much of a outdoorsman The Grand Old Man was! Great book IMO.

Did Tim edit the letters or just copy them directly to the page? I ask because Elmer's two letters to me were rough as a cob with typos, etc. He just banged them out. Looked like Terry's posts except he tried to use caps correctly.

Great reading! Buy it if you can. Also some amazing books of the great old man; "Sixguns", "Hell, I was there", "Gun Notes I and II" and "Safari".

Big Game Hunting----$85.00 I bet Ol' Elmer would have been pretty happy if the book had brought that when he was alive, I read "Hell, I Was There" quite a few years ago, very enjoyable.

The first few letters are hand written, the rest seem to be copied "as typed" by Keith.

Thanks. I think the actual letters give more flavor than simply transcribing the information. I don't know why I asked, I've already ordered a copy!  And heck, I get every ORIGINAL Keith book I can.

Hobie
