Browning 1911, 22 LR
Do any of you have the Browning 1911 handgun that shoots 22 LR?
Think I have to have one of those and wondering how reliable some of you may have found it to be.

If your talking about the downsized version, Rafter-7 has one, works great. Haven't had it on paper, but seems to shoot everything thrown in it so far.

Yeah, the "downsized version" with aluminum frame. Supposed to be 80% the size of the old 1911, 45 a.c.p. and a lot lighter in weight due to both smaller and the aluminum frame.
Everything I've read about it has been good.

Just talked to Chad. He has the shorter one. I put a couple mags through it and seemed pretty accurate, considering me

Yes its a good gun, My wife has it in the console of her Pickup as her carry gun. it cycles target ammo as well as the fast stuff . It fits her hand great and is easy to operate. Easy slide spring. I just told her to rack and go. She is not comfortable with the cock and lock idea. Her gun her rules
They made it in two barrel lengths I have the shorter one at 3. something

Ted's right. I have one and I like it. I think it jammed once but not since.

It's a nice little gun. Not picky about what's run through it. Complements the 1911 .45 like the Peacemaker .22 does the .45 Single Action Army.

If my kids were smaller, I'd have picked up one of these in a heartbeat. As it is, Y2K is almost my height now, and has shot everything he can gets his hands on.
Still, maybe I should start planning on grandchildren...

I have handled a few, and shot one extensively over a weekend, a while back.. Suffice it to say, one of them is next on my "will have" list...

I have one.
It shoots OK. No complaints.
It's... small.

Fun gun to shoot. It is accurate enough to really force you to work on your skills but if you do you can get some nice groups out of it.
Highly recommended. It is just fun to shoot!

How well are the sights regulated on the ones you folks have fired? Can I aim dead on at a 20 yard rabbit's head and feel confident? I almost always prefer adjustable sights on a .22 because of the small targets I use these guns for, so I was wondering.
