Winter on the High Desert

Post by Bill in Oregon »

Looking at Pitchy's thread about his winter walk prompts me to post this little film I shot yesterday driving in to our new home-to-be to check on how things are coming on our build. The fellas have the walls framed, so we'll be looking for trusses this coming week. Been mighty cold here by Oregon standards -- well below zero at night.

You need to turn the heat up in that house :)

Looks like a great place.

Looks like your house will have a nice view. The entire city of Ukiah, CA where I live had heavy snow fall Friday afternoon last. While it has snowed here maybe twice in the 5.5 years I've been here (we are at about 500 ft above sea level), I've never seen it this cold or snow so heavy. I still have snow and ice on the ground at my house two days later! -Tutt

That first one is a short video, if you click on it.
I see a town near here, Silver Lake, broke its cold record with 38 below last night.

Could that be Mt Pitt (McLoughlin) in the background?

Congrats on the new home and nice location. Building in those conditions is not fun. Hope you get a break in the weather soon.
