ISO experience with Fiocchi
With regard to the ammo shortage and increasing prices, I bought some 44 mag Fiocchi 240 sp and 240 xtp ammo. Can anyone give testimonial to the quality, accuracy, and power of this ammo?
My rifle needs some front sight repair before I can comment on this. Can anyone comment on their own expieriences?

Re: ISO experience with Fiocchi
My only experience with Fiocchi is 380 ACP in my dad's Colt back in the eighties. The pistol didn't like them. Lots of jams. But those pistols had a reputation for unreliability.

Re: ISO experience with Fiocchi
My only experience with Fiocchi is 9mm and 22 Mag. Accurate and reliable. Especially the 22 mag, very consistent velocities.
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

Fiocchi ammo is one of my favorites-- i've shot Fiocchi in .380, 9mm, 38spl., .357mag, .40S&W, .44mag, and 45ACP...i found it to be good stuff, sometimes i think it's a little hotter than other brands, especially the 45ACP (just my opinion)...right now I have 500 rounds of Fiocchi .40S&W hardball, accurate, reliable with my Glocks... :)

.
Fiocchi makes good ammo - Good enough, that S&W had Fiocchi brand their ammo as "S&W" in the 1970's.
I bought out a Woolco Sporting Goods Dept of all their S&W/Fiocchi .30-06 ten-paks, back when Woolco was getting out of the retail gun business, for a song (I spoke with the store manager about a special price if I bought it all).
The ammo was accurate in my rifles, and none of the animals I took with it ever complained.
I was also fortunate enough to be able to buy a lifetime (for me @ 65+, back then) of Fiocchi .22WRM ammo @ less than 50% retail, which has feed my .22 Mag rifles & handguns - again, w/o complaint.

Would that be the 40SW 180gr FMJ with FP? I have shot that out of my P94, shoots softer than my 9mm. Smacks and rolls rocks and other objects harder and farther than the 9mm. 3leg30wcf wrote:Fiocchi ammo is one of my favorites-- i've shot Fiocchi in .380, 9mm, 38spl., .357mag, .40S&W, .44mag, and 45ACP...i found it to be good stuff, sometimes i think it's a little hotter than other brands, especially the 45ACP (just my opinion)...right now I have 500 rounds of Fiocchi .40S&W hardball, accurate, reliable with my Glocks...

i buy and shoot the 40S&W 180gr FMJ i find it similar to the Blazer stuff that we use for qualifying--it was their .45ACP hardball that seemed a little hotter to me, it might be just me... :)3leggedturtle wrote:Would that be the 40SW 180gr FMJ with FP? Re: ISO experience with Fiocchi
their 22lr is noticeably more accurate than other brands in my guns (Winchester, Remington, CCI) especially the subsonic.
I also used to use it in 38 special and .357 magnum, always right in there as most accurate or runner up.

Re: ISO experience with Fiocchi
Their 44mag, from what I've read, is loaded a little higher than most "domestic" ammunition. I am glad most everyone had a favorable experience with Fiocchi. Hoping to use the 240sp as a bambi buster in the future.

Re: ISO experience with Fiocchi
My experience with Fiocchi is a case of 16 gauge ammo that I traded into. In our autoloading 16 gauge shotguns, it feeds fine, shoots well, but won't eject. Apparently Fiocchi's 2 3/4" ruler is about 1/8" longer than anyone else's which is just long enough to hang up the hull in the actions during ejection.
44-40 Winchester. Whacking varmits and putting meat on the table since 1873.

If your 16 gauge autoloader is a Remington Model 11 it may have a 2 5/8" chamber.44-40 Willy wrote:My experience with Fiocchi is a case of 16 gauge ammo that I traded into.
