I don't know Ya'll, but it seems to me that if it isn't a Winchester lever action or similar , or a Colt single action , it just ain't pretty.!!

Seems to me we like most levers and most single actions and S&Ws and a lot of others.

Maybe you're just blind.

There is beauty in most designs, you just have to be able to see it. Even the Sten gun, as ugly as it is, can be 'pretty' in a simplistic design point of view.

I may be one of the few members who think this way, but I like the looks of a well made shotgun, too.

Mutt is 'da man!!!!!! The truth can be found in my signature line. Let's add the 1911.

If anyone can find beauty in a Mossberg bolt action shotgun, any Russian military gun, or for that matter, any English military gun, well.......let's not go there.

On a serious note, any object that has "clean lines" and is pleasing to the eyes, is usually successful and will always remain in demand. Corvette vs. Edsel :D

How come a very nice original Krag can still be found for 5 when a newer produced and greatly more manufactured Springfield 03 will bring twice the money?

Ha! I have always wondered how the English produced the most beautiful commercial double barreled shotguns and rifles and the dang ugliest military guns.

I'll give em credit though, their military guns may be nasty looking, but those babies will always work.

Let's talk Italian military guns of ww2. They are ugly, don't work, under powered and most of the time are too greasy. And I'm half Italian! We won't even talk about the snail eating French guns. :D ----6

The Italian military guns are wonderful collectors....always in great shape....only been dropped once. Did you know that they are building an Italian fleet with glass bottoms? So they can see the first Italian fleet   Ok, I'm done....

I may be the odd man out but I like a good evil black rifle that will hold 30 rounds of 5.56 or one that will hold 20 rounds of 7.62. I think they're purty.

The Carcanos weren't pretty, but they worked. The Italian front saw massive amounts of fighting in WW1. The base I was stationed at's region traded hands between the Austro-Hungarians and the Italians somewhere around 17 times fighting up and down the same couple of valleys and mountains.

The Lebels weren't pretty either, but they worked.

While Rachel sure is pretty she is not going to be as attractive as a Winchester lever action at the age of 121 years.

Choice ONE a 120 year on Winchester.

Choice TWO a 120 year old women

Or choice THREE a 120 year old woman with a lever action.

Choice 4: a 20 year old woman & 120 year old Winchester lever!

"A home theatre system and a new gun"

Your assessment of beauty suits me but my take is a little wider. I think the Lee Enfield is a thing of military beauty, particularly the No.5. The only black rifle I like is the FN C1 and I suspect it isn't even considered one. I prefer the early Colt and S&W double actions and the 1911. The prettiest boat is a wood canvas canoe and the prettiest airplane is a Spitfire with the J3 right behind. The prettiest woman is my wife Barb. The prettiest gun I own is a 50s 94 and the best hunting rifle is my 444.
