You just never know.

With my company I've been from Manchester to Tacoma, Baltimore to San Jose and Savannah to San Diego.

Every time I go to a local Walmart I feel like I'm just going in to one more section of the Star Wars bar. You may be thinking, 'so far, this one looks almost normal', then you turn the corner and down the aisle is something that makes you want to pour bleach in your eyes.

Still, I actually LIKE places where nobody feels obliged to dress or even behave to some haughty 'standard'. Maybe because it even makes ME look normal.

The ONLY thing that just makes my blood pressure rise is when I see how many of them are on FOOD STAMPS, or whatever politically-correct name they now have...

Actually Blaine, you are on the outskirts of the Walmartian empire. Those in Gainesville are a halfbread variety half human, half walmartian. I don't want to say exactly where the epicenter is but I will say it is further south and almost an equal distance coast to coast.

BTW, when you have Thor around any body of water here keep him on a short lead. we have BIG LEEZARDS that love little dogs just about his size and they can be very fast for short distances.

Doc, I am sure that you clean up for the job, such as showering and such. Hair style and shaving or not are not what I am talking about, and I think that you are not much concerned with what others think of that part of you. I am sure, though, that you have the same standards of hygiene that your Profession requires. Some of the Walmartians are allergic to water and soap. I worked for Wal Mart and we always had some who came in regularly and your nose could tell you when they were in the store before you saw them. David Allen Coe used to come in to one of the Wal Mart stores in the Bellmeade section of Waco, and he was sometimes drunk. I don't think I ever saw him with footwear that even matched for type. 1 shoe and 1 boot, or 1 shoe and 1 sandal were not uncommon.

I was at the one just off I-10, about 1/2 mile north. Hit it at 2330. Some things you just CAN"T unsee and dis-remember. :P

I been to that one once... I was looking for .22lr ammo maybe 6 months ago....

At 11 am, it was a bunch of normal looking guys, all looking for .22lr ammo

I think the events of the time had corrupted the normal Martian sampling, I expected worse!

Occasionally, the Safeway in Safford has some pretty weird ones wandering through, I've not yet summoned the intestinal fortitude to go across the street to the Walmart  Sometimes I wonder if the Walmart is packed when they start overflowing into Safeway!

If I happen to be in Wal-Mart in Beckley WV and all of a sudden I feel the need to make dueling banjos sound in my head I realize it is the 1st of the month and it looks absolutely scary. They are only there the first few days of the month.
