Lever Action Hunting Video
For the past couple years ive had this idea of making a whitetail video that is nothing but leverguns and single actions. My question is would anyone be interested in one and if there is any local levergunners that would like to help. now the video will not be tv quailty as im new to the whole video thing but figure its worth a shot. im thinking it will be 10-15 hunts of both does and bucks and maybe a few coyotes to boot. Whats your thoughts
Re: Lever Action Hunting Video
As far as a 'commercial' venture, there are so many hunting videos out there, in all degrees of length and quality, that the levergun niche would not likely be enough to make it marketable other than on a forum like this, where guys might pony up a few bucks to download it or get a DVD or something (don't know even here how many would, though, since many/most of us see leverguns and hunt with them without having to watch a video. STILL I think it would be cool, and if it got out into the general world for view, might re-interest some folks in leverguns.
Gotta tailor it to your audience, too - the recent flap about the guy shooting an elephant "in the face" was a good example of how the non-hunting population view hunting. Maybe even two versions - a 'sanitized' free one that just showed the fine-old-tradition of using walnut and blued steel guns that are 'clearly not assault weapons' [
], for a day afield enjoying nature and used as a tool for gently harvesting game... Then the customer who BUYS the DVD gets the sections on shot placement, bullet selection, field-dressing, or whatever. That should weed out the weenies...

Thanks for the advice ajmd429
my goal is to just make a real video of how hunting really is not just what tv portrays it as.
and like you said i want to include all the fundmentals of true tradional hunting shot placement, bullet selection{style and weight} for the animal your hunting and the location. the process of hunting from scouting to building stands checking firearms making the shot field dressing and processing the meat the whole deal of hunting mainly the video will be just for family and friends if anyone on here would like a copy they are more than welcome to one. and any ideas for the video would be great
