I don't collect leverguns...........

Post by DarryH »

I don't collect lever guns, but I keep accumulating them.
In the last two weeks I traded for a Mare's Leg .22,
and then today I bought an 1873 Winchester.

The Mare's Leg may not be practical...but it sure looks fun.
The 1873 was made in 1889, and is a 38WCF (38-40)
24 inch barrel. should be a nice shooter.

Crosman 99 air rifle (looks like a Savage Model 99)
Daisy 1894 air rifle (old one)
Daisy Red Rider
Daisy Model 95
Daisy Model 99
Winchester 9422
Marlin Golden 39A
Mare's Leg .22LR pistol
Winchester 1873 38-40, made in 1899
Winchester/Uberti 1873 Deluxe Rifle 357Mag
Winchester 1886 45-70, made in 1888
Winchester 1892 32-20 made in 1898
Winchester 1892 32-20 made in 1908
Winchester/Miroku 1892 357Mag
Winchester 1894 Centennial 30/30
Winchester 1894 Nebraska Centennial 30/30
Winchester 1895 30-06
Steven's Single shot 20 gauge lever action
Last time I made a list, I thought of several more
over the course of the week.

I think the little Mare's Leg in 22 LR would be the nicest chambering; there is a video on YouTube of a little kid shooting one, and unlike most of the "kid's guns" out there, the stock was actually short enough he could plant it properly on his shoulder, and shoot, instead of under his armpit or whatever like most kids have to do.

30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

250 Savage... its what the 223 wishes it could be...!

That's a nice accumulation you have there.

I am glad you are not seriously collecting because that leaves more for me. :D ------Sixgun
