group buys
Ive never seen group buys on this forum. is it because u have had bad luck doing them or u just dont do em. I would like to order some grips from Buffalo Brothers but in order to get a good price you have to order 10 or more. i could order that many but Im on disability and it would take me awhile to save the money. Just want to know.

Re: group buys
.
The problem (IMO) with group buys is that a large enough group needs be gathered that all want the same thing - and then there's the after-delivery distribution problems/costs issue to deal with.
While many here like what appear to be the same things, I'd bet there's enough individuality among our board members to preclude anyone wanting/having what everybody else does.

Re: group buys
About the only ones I've seen go successfully are custom bullet moulds, since the price of course drops a huge amount when the guy making them can be sure he'll use that $200 reamer he has to fabricate for more than one sale. Usually it will be for an unusually-heavy-for-caliber or unusually-light-for-caliber design, or an unusually wide meplat, etc...

Re: group buys
Perhaps it's because the interests here are so diverse that a group buy can't stir much enthusiasm? At the Castboolits forum there are group buys often but that's usually just bullet molds.
