Post by Old Savage »

If you are of the faint of heart and weak faith - turn back, turn back I tell you - you soul is in danger.

Yes for her sleek lines and gentle but exciting curves I call this one Pulchritude

The Model P in 45 Colt.

And - a Camillus Daddy Barlow

Now that knife is OLD SCHOOL! Seriously, one hardly sees anyone bragging about one of those any more. Most folks seem to have to have some sort CQB, black synthetic, self-opening, battle knife. I like it!

OK OS, forget the other stuff....on to Barlows.....I remember them well when I was a kid. Store counters usually had a display of them for like .99 cents...........junk. :D Well, they were OK if you wanted to open a beer bottle or stab a frog. Me? I'm a man of quality and I got this knife from the Gookey catalog when I was 12 years old........still have it 47 years later.----6

Old Timer, Benchmade, Colt, Uzi....quality...no Barlows here. :D

6 you da man -- who could argue with that? That is maybe the most eclectic gun/knife battery I have ever seen. Now, pick something "street legal" everywhere to hunt with. :) Better be a lever and I am going break out my only bench made and a few Old Timers to join in with.

OS,
Are you always "online"? That was a fast response to my weird picture of old and new. I knew you would like that! :D (took me 10 minutes to get them to balance. :D

For real, only joshing about the Barlows. They were very common here and were a real "meat and potatos" knife. Every kid in the neighborhood had one. I'm confused though....how did you manage to find a new one or is it something you hoarded away?

Lets see your Old Timers

Here's a pic of a levergun. OK? Its street legal for hunting but at 12 pounds, it can also be used as a club. :D

I finally got one on Ebay and bid a normally unreasonable amount of money to insure that I got it - the faint hearted or less motivated folded. During the time before I could get back to the office I picked up quite a few nice Case and Camillus knives. Respectable little utilitarian collection.

Six - gifts from recovery well wishers - one year today since the first surgeries - if you need a reason to celebrate. Shotgun is a Marlin 410 1929-1932. You know the book :) Gift from the daughter you barely see in the picture behind. Knives are of course - Camillus. I am thinking a man such as yourself could use these three as a complete survival kit.

OS, just got home from "making the donuts". You have been holding out on me....where did that 93/410 come from? Can I have it? I've only seen a handful of them. Maybe even more than that, the KEITH book.. Is that a first printing? I'm coming over right now to get my Marlin and my new book......and maybe a couple of indentations :D ----------------6

Well, let's see here Six, maybe you should drop by the office first and pick up your .357 Flat Top and your other Keith books. Now as to the ladies - that is transitory and depends on who may be there at the time - this is today. :) The Barlow is compliments of Pitchy. The elephant is from Nepal and the tusks are real ivory. The Sword Brand red knife came via Ebay and was made by Camillus.

Once again, just got home from making the donuts and you have amazed me once more with your secret acquisitions. Never knew you were a Keith fan. He is the reason I got into the Colt Sa's and pre-war Smiths. The Winchesters just got in the way and came home with me.

Tell me about the damascus knife. That looks to be a real work of art. These things get me much more excited than a money hungry high maintenance x chromosome thingy. :D

Along with the Marlin, and both Keith books, can I have the knife too?-------------6 (you can have the elephants)

Yes, by Keith. I read a fair amount of O'Connor and I never could warm up to him. But anyway, I'll still take his book, but only because its a first printing. Please put those books, along with the other books, knives, and the single action Colt in the same box when you ship it to me. :D -------------6

No, no...forget the Polish Mauser. Not much good comes from Poland.............they can't even make ice anymore.....they lost the receipe. :D

Just the 44 Colt. And could you do me a favor?? As you live on the west coast, where all of that pulchritude is, how about sending me some. You can start with that little Mexican gal. Just make sure she has her green card.------------------6
