Rossi Model 92? 357

Post by Boomer45 »

I have been looking for a 38/357 levergun to go with my Accusport Bisley SBH in 357mag and stumbled on to this one today while picking up some reloading supplies. It is a Rossi saddlering carbine in 357 mag. No safety. The receiver blueing looks like a deep purple color. I have no experience with these rifles but the price was right and the gun was in great condition so it is now on layaway. Any thougths on these rifles, good, bad, indifferent? I would like to shoot some 180gr bullets in it if the chamber is long enough. Thanks Guys!

They kill deer just fine out to 100yds or so.

I like mine an inordinate amount. 8)

I also have a 6 cavity mold for an absolutely dandy 180gr GC boolit that I get up to about 1800fps.

Since you're in the AO, I'll hook up with you later about how to make your new toy run.

I picked up a Rossi 92 SRC in .357 and just love the thing! I also followed the instructions on this site to clean-up the action->

If you're a bit handy and don't mind spending an afternoon giving your rifle some TLC, you'll be MUCH more happy with it! Congrats on your new rifle.

Great guns, you will love it. I gave my 20 inch to my son, ordered a Stainless trapper from Steve Young (who is a Forum sponsor) which is now at my FFL, I get to pick it up in 7 days. I also bought Steve's DVD for my son to slick up his, he did it a few weeks back and it's now perfect. Go to Steve's website and check it out. Jim

I think they're a little rough when you get them from the store as new. But... they sure clean up nice! They do have some issues, but... we have a expert that hangs around and can pretty much straighten any of them out! I've three, 2 in .357 and one in .45 colt. All have been reworked and smoothed up! Slick little carbines and rifles!

I've got a 16-incher in .45 Colt, and am keeping eyes open for a deal on a .357. These are sweet little carbines.
