Robot bartender

Post by bakamorgan »

Guy goes into a bar in Louisiana where there’s a robot bartender! The robot says, “What will you have?” The guy says, “Whiskey.” The robot brings back his drink and says to the man, “What’s your IQ?” The guy says,” 168.” The robot then proceeds to talk about physics, space exploration and medical technology.

The guy leaves, . . . but he is curious . . . So he goes back into the bar. The robot bartender says, “What will you have?” The guy says, “Whiskey.” Again, the robot brings the man his drink and says, “What’s your IQ?” The guy says, “100.” The robot then starts to talk about Nascar, Budweiser, the Saints and LSU Tigers

The guy leaves, but finds it very interesting, so he thinks he will try it one more time. He goes back into the bar. The robot says, “What will you have?” The guy says, “Whiskey,” and the robot brings him his whiskey. The robot then says, “What’s your IQ?” The guy says, “Uh, about 50.”

The robot leans in real close and says, “SO, . . . you people . . . still happy . . . with Obama?”

I just read Hobies' post about banning someone for 7 days for untoward language. That made me notice the "Forum Rules" prohibit political stuff here. It is acceptable on the politcal forum provided here for such comment.

Should this kind of post be post be in the political forum or is it OK to force your personal political agenda on everyone on this forum?

I come here to read about guns, lever guns especially, not to read your distasteful comments about the president.

Didn't know jokes of any kind stirred debate around here.

Might as well figure out why the chicken crossed the road in the first place. I hear he was a little emotional of missing his grandma chicken and only really wanted to get to the other side to meet her. Or was he really just running from col. sanders.

Well, the smart thing to do when you don't like someone's joke is to grit your teeth and move on to something else. Its a big scary world out there, and we are all going to find people with whom we disagree. Does it really do any harm to laugh off what you consider an insult?

So why did somebody get banned for 7 days? Why didn't everybody just grin & bear it despite it being considered profane?

Two standards here.

Why would you post something like either here , especially if there's a forum provided where it is tolerated and appropriate?

There are plenty of sites where nasty talk and political posts are welcome. Why does a guy come to a gun forum with it?

2571, I have had at least one of my posts removed. I don't sweat it because Hobie is doing what he thinks is best and it is not my forum. I don't own it, don't run it, and am just a guest here. What I am getting at is, if you don't like a post, report it to Hobie and tell why. I saw that joke several years ago with President Bush as the butt of the joke. Since a President is a public figure, why should we not take swipes at him (and someday, her) with jokes? My favorite skit by Carson was a swipe at President Reagan. It was just humor.

Neither you nor I decide who gets banned, so as piller suggested, maybe the thing to do is hit the report post button and move on. Getting all hot and bothered about it simply invites others to fight with you and makes work for the moderators. If I had been offended by such a joke, I probably would have said something like "This belongs in the politics forum" and left it at that.

What you or I think is fair or relavent here has little to do with anything. I would likely make different decisions than would you, or than does Hobie. Knowing this, why would I insist that everything be run to suit my own view of consistency?

Heck, if a joke is funny, I laugh at it even if I am fond of the butt of the joke. I'll even laugh if I'm the butt of the joke, there is nothing else to be done when the joke is truly funny.

Like you, I'm not that bothered. You take offense at my posts when no reasonable person could find fault with my comment.

What was it last, a complaint about an off-hand turn of phrase about charity which I used & which is common in my part of the USA or was it a remark you made about Michigan Football?

I think I'll stay.

BTW, that stupid comment did make me chuckle. I didn't go to UM. I graduted from it's arch-rival, MSU and we were good. Kill, Bubba, Kill.

Glad to have you here. The moderators decide on the fate of the posts. Report it if you don't like it. Doubt they will tell you why someone was banned for 7 days or not unless your the one being banned. Jokes don't seem to qualify for political forum just because the non-commander anointed one is mentioned. He does not dignify the office he holds, not sure why jokes should be dignified that bare his name. Now maybe my comments should be in the political forum but to keep it gun related, tomorrow the big O goes to Ct. To politicize the debate on gun control, using the horrible deaths of 26 for political gain of his pitiful agenda.
