Break up is here and I'm back
Sometime in December I pry ed myself off the computer and joined a gym and took up Tae Kwon Do.
At about that same time I had a lot of stress in my life and woke up one morning with right side of my face numb and tingling in my right arm, I'm thinking I'm only 34 and I'm having a stroke. Went to the ER and was told it was Bell's Palsy, still the symptoms lasted a month
Since then I've lost 25lbs and 5in off my waist, took second in the Great Lakes Championships as a novice beating 4 other opponents and losing to a individual who was 4 ranks higher then me.
Although when we were done he looked like he had been in a train wreck.
I've repaired my 336, free floated, re-crowed and painted my H&R 30-30.
Striped my Colt Commander and completely cleaned it, but still have what seems to be a light hammer strike.
Been out shooting twice but spent to solid two months casting and hand loading hundreds of 30-30 and 38 specials rounds in anticipation of better weather.
Family is doing great, and the snow is finally melting.
I've another post on a Ruger #1 in 405 Win that has caught my, all opinions would be appreciated.
Well good to be back.

Congrats on the weight loss. few things are harder these days.
I'm trying to bite the bullet myself and stop making excuses for failure. I was 175 lbs of solid muscle when I entered college, and about 180 upon graduation. A few years at a desk, and I'm 220
I'm forcing myself to go back on "The Zone" eating plan on Monday as it really worked the last time I tried it.

Good luck.
For me a diet alone just never worked, what I do is workout for 1hr 5-6 days a week and cut the McDonalds, candy and soda out of my diet, but I still eat like a horse.

Diets in general don't work. According to most nutritionists whose work I've read, it takes an overall lifestyle change.WCF3030 wrote: For me a diet alone just never worked, what I do is workout for 1hr 5-6 days a week and cut the McDonalds, candy and soda out of my diet, but I still eat like a horse.

I wondering the other day if you were still around. I hadn't seen a post in a while. Good to hear your back on track.
I maintain my weight by eating oatmeal for breakfast, a peanut butter sandwich for lunch and then eat like a horse for dinner. I don't drive a desk for work and I stay on the move at work and at home. But this formula seems to keep me at 175 lbs.

Glad you're feeling better. I hope you have no permanent facial damage, as often happens.
I had Bell's, myself. Yeah - It does make one think: "stroke".
BTW - It'll recur, from time to time - so don't get upset when it does.
If your Doc's as friendly as mine, ask him for a small stash of Prednisone, and take a few at the onset of a recurrence, then immediately call him for a schedule to gradually diminish whatever dosage you took.
As more years go by, the recurrences are much less frequent - it's been at least 4 years since my last.

I'll have a better look after I shave the full beard that I've since September.
Thank you all again for the warm welcome back.
