Height of front sight with Marbles Bullseye

Post by nate_o23 »

I have a Rossi 92 with 16" barrel in 45LC. I am thinking of getting a Marbles Bullseye to replace the rear sight and a fiber optic to replace the front. My queston is to anyone who has this combo what height fiber optic front sight did you use?
Thanks!

did that with a 16" 94 357 and used stock height for the front sight. Lined them up to marks on tape and spot on, no adjustment needed. put one on a Marlin 37 with the original front sight and same same, worked fine.

don't know if it would work that way for a 45 though

Honestly don't remember what heights I've used, but I've put Marble's Bullseye sights on three Rossi 16" leverguns (357, 44, and 45 Colt), and I think I used the 'stock' sight on the 357 (but drilled it through front-to-back with a Dremel then made a file-notch or two on the top, and inserted a fiberoptic, to make my own 'fiber-sight'), and I think the 44 and 45 Colt I wound up raising the front (by replacing them) about 1/20" or so.

Front sights are inexpensive enough I usually buy several that 'bracket' the height I think I'll need, so I always have spares.
