That was fun. Glad osha approved and the dotgovt OK'd that routine, eh?

My Dad learned to fly in the Jenny and I think soloed after 5 or 6 hours of dual time.

they hadn't turned it into an industry yet.

thanks for the memories.

It may have been staged, what are the odds they had a film camera there? Still, changing planes and crawling down on the landing gear to attach a wheel is something I sure wouldn't try. Heck, I doubt you'd be able to find a lady with that kind of courage these days.

Not staged at all as in did it need fixing. No, it was well rehearsed before it was done at a airshow. Even if I was young, aggil and skinny I dont belive there is enough money in the world to make me try that! There is a tv ad that shows a young woman climbing a pinnical probley here in utah that just makes me hold my breath everytime I see it. I own a citaberia and did some light stunts years ago such as rolls spins and loops. That didnt bother me as much as getting on my roof to service the AC!

When I was an IP with Lufthansa we used to solo the wunderkinds in 6 hours...in a complex, retractable gear Bonanza!

Still amazes me we never lost anyone...

Thanks for the vid.
