Hi All,
I'm looking for some accurate, general purpose 250 gr XTP loads for my Ruger BH. I have Unique, Universal, HP-38, HS-6, and 2400. Any thoughts on some mild - mid range loads within those parameters?
Thanks in advance!

Hodgdon's Reloading Data Center won't steer your wrong. Just look for the .45 Colt (Ruger, Freedom Arms & T/C only) listing under pistol.

Re: .45 Colt XTP loads
The "Ruger only" starting load of 20.0 gr. H4227 is very accurate in my 7 1/2"
Redhawk using the 250 gr. XTP.
If using IMR 4227 as a substitute, I found not enough difference in the two to be concerned with
but I always begin with the starting load and work up.

Re: .45 Colt XTP loads
I use 8-9gn of Unique or Universal or 16-18gn of 2400.
Re: .45 Colt XTP loads
I really like 16.5 gr. 2400 with this bullet for both handgun (NF) and rifle (M92). You can go a lot hotter than that in your gun, but that load does most everything you would want a 45 to do, without recoil becoming noticeable. Accurate in both of my firearms.
Re: .45 Colt XTP loads
I think the 16-18 grains of 2400 with a 250sih grain bullet is a very popular load.
I'm using a similar loading of AA#9 with the same XTPs in my bisley blackhawk and it is definitely 'enough' but also definitely less than the H110 load i tried.
