Marlin to change hands again?!

Post by ving-thorr »

I see on news that Cerberus, the parent company of the Freedom Group, which controls Marlin is going to dump these companies. Hopefully this turns out to be a good thing for Marlin, and not Marlin's death, since at the moment Remington seems to be producing pretty gross copies of the New Haven Marlins.

Wouldn't Remington still own Marlin, though?

But who would own remington? Maybe remington wouldn't want them anymore? I guess we'll see.

that may explain why we don't see (or hardly see) any new REM-Marlin's in the Pacific NorthWest...the two LGS that i visit hadn't had anything new from marlin since last August... :(

Guys: Cerberus owns Marlin, Bushmaster, DPMS, Remington, Dakota and Barnes bullets, among others. It will be a great day for firearms enthusiasts if and when someone who actually cares about the product, and not just profits, buys the Freedom Group. Cerberus bean counters are the clowns that closed Marlin's New Haven Plant, took the machinery to Ilion and told Remington workers to go ahead and make these leverguns. They're still trying to figure that out. That's why New Haven Marlins now bring a premium over those that say REM on the barrel. For the gory details, go to the Rant forum at Marlinowners.com.

I got a spare $100 I'll donate for the forum to buy Marlin. I'm sure that between the skills shown amongst this forum, we could produce quality Marlins. Let's see, Alphawolf for teaching basic machining skills... KirkD for advertising photography, Mescalero for raw materials, Pitchy for innovation and new ideas, Hobie for organization; myself, I'll handle transnportation and we'll all rely on OS for morale!

Well there Griff, I'm thinking Ms Boots could ride up golden hair flowing, in a flowing dismount and lever off some rounds with her new Marlin in 25-30 Waters caliber. :)

OK then here it is - she rides up - imagine full action of course

Image

effects the flowing dismount with the rifle - something on this order

Image

starts levering rounds

Image

stands up in a kind of sassy provocative manner - picture her with the rifle of course

Image

Cut away to the Lady Godiva shot

Image

then to her by the fence to put in the plug for the new Marlin OR Tamilyn

Image

Then - the hot tub shot with - of course - the new rifle leaning on the saddle

Image

And we'll get ollogger in - kind of favors Kris Kristofferson don't you think - these two belong in the movies
