Fastest way to get a good sight on it is the Williams FP-336 - it screws right onto the scope-holes. I use the front-pair just because I like the way the gun carries with it there, and it actually works just fine for my old eyes there. It's really low-profile and durable compared to other options. VERY fine-tuneable and reproducible in adjustments, too...

Remington 200-grain factory loads have been good in mine.

Like the good doctor says; Remington 200gr soft point Core-Lokt ammunition shoots great in my '70s vintage 336C. When I first got it, I used to shoot Winchester Super-X 200gr Silvertips and Power Points in it. I still have a box of each but haven't seen any for sale in over 20 years.

I have also fired Remington 150gr Pointed Soft Points in it, they shoot ok but I prefer the 200 gr loads. No need in discussing the pitfalls of PSP bullets in a tube magazine, I just wanted to say from first hand experience that they are effective on white tails.

i like the "SKINNER SIGHT" over the Williams, i also changed out the front sight with an XS-Systems front sight, but that's my personal preference...and please don't be ashamed of owning one levergun, especially a Marlin in 35 Remington... :)

You might also try the new Leverevolution ammo, I see it around at gun stores. Otherwise Remington green box 200 grain, leaves my gun as if laser-guided. I usually have to order it.

I'm trying to work up a nice load for mine that will let me shoot it a little more often, as the factory stuff is expensive. But if I were just going to hunt with it, I'd use the Remington.

I have an all copper load for mine that will let me carry it here in California, but it leaves so little powder room that it would be ineffective for hunting. It uses the Barnes spire point 200 grn. - only one in the mag at a time. I figure it would be an ok round for defense within 50 yards - a 200 grain copper solid @ 1800 fps.

if you're only gonna have one levergun, one in 35 Remington
is an excellent choice!

My experience with the same gun is that the Remington
200 gr.Core-Lokts are quite accurate. They used to make
a 150 gr. load - and maybe still do - and I found those
pretty inaccurate.

I've got a Williams rear sight on mine that works fine. I've
a Skinner rear sight on one of the 30-30s, and that also
works well, although the elevation adjustment is somewhat
limited. If it lines up out of the box you're good to go, but
you may or may not need to replace the front sight.

I must confess too then, I'm down to two rifles chambered in 30/30 and neither are a Winchester model 94.

I have a Williams 5D on my Marlin 94 and I'm happy with it for my purposes. For a steel deal hunting sight hard to beat a Skinner sight. I have an all steel XS Ghost ring on my 357 mag Trapper that I'm happy with too. Just throwing in a couple more options.

I own more than a few deer rifles, but this one was my first and still my "go to" gun. I put a small 1.5X5 scope on it several years ago and I have never regreted it. I have always prefered the 200 grain Core-Lockts also. I miss the days when WalMart sold them for $9 a box!

One more vote for the Skinner sight. They are built as solid as anything can be, and the adjustment is easy and stays put. I like the way I can remove the peep sight portion and change it to a Ghost Ring style. On my Guide Gun the Skinner sight worked perfectly on my hunt of a lifetime in Africa.

Nothing wrong with a Marlin 35 Remington! I was talking with a fellow at the range last week about his Marlin. I can shoot 3-shot groups of 1 & 1/2" repeatedly at 100 yards with his. Unfortunately, I don't know what he feeds it.

I shoot my 356 Win. at the same speeds as a 35 Remington Mike. With a 210 gr. cast bullet, I was pretty impressed with it's performance on this medium sized hog. Penetration and wound channel were quite impressive! Though there are some refinements I want to make to it, this will be my go to rifle until croak I imagine.

About 25 years ago I had a friend who used his Marlin 336 in 35 Rem. to clear out some wild cattle from a valley which was slated to be developed into a golf course by some Japanese investors (plan "A" for attack didn't work so they used plan "B: for buy ). He dropped about a half dozen wild cattle with his 35 rem using cheap 200 grain green and yellow box ammo. I was pretty impressed.

Well it seems that Remington 200gr sp are as rare as hens teeth here. Found a case of 150s at gander mountain. Nothing at Wally world or my favorite haunts here. Will have to expand the search on another day. This marlin is the 336 rc version, straight grip and nice wood. I plan on sending it to WWG after the dear season to make it a takedown and have an action job, WWG large loop, steel follower and perhaps a parkerizing. Until then, it will have to serve duty as is. I do have a box of 200 gr new fangled stuff. will have to try that until I find green box stuff. I may go with the Williams receiver sight so I don't have to change the front sight

Ammo and Williams sight eceived today. Waiting for extractor then to the range and pics. Oh, victor and I agreed I must have one of his beautiful 94s so I will soon have two levers. Trend is good! Vbg

Extractor arrived today. Installed and tested in less than 5 mins. I'm a happy camper. That old extractor had nothing to grab the shell compared to this one. Off to the range this week.
