Elk in Benezette PA

I have been wanting to head up to Benezette, PA for a few years now to see the elk, but just never seemed to get up there. Yesterday my wife and I decided to finally make the trip to Elk County (only a 2 hour drive). We were blessed to find a decent sized bull (6x7) protecting his large harem of about 30 cows. This is the peak of the rut so we were hoping to see some challengers come and pick a fight. One smaller bull came close but got run off by the big boy. Near dark there were plenty of other elk on neighboring hills bugling away. Such a great evening to view God's wondrous creations. Here's a few pics.

Beautiful Irelander, We have some reasonably local Elk and I am dying to take a little Road Trip.
