The Whisperizer MkII Hollow Point Die

Post by specops »

Ran across this on evilbay the other day http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 545wt_1165. Made in Norway. I've used one of Paco's tools for years, just wondered if anyone had tried this one.

I use Paco's tool to expand the bullets to fit a very worn barrel. This tool does not seem to be anything I would ever need.

Factory hollow points are about 30%+ higher in cost and don't shoot any better than standard round nose. I have also never had good luck with consistent expansion with most factory hollow points. The exception is CCI Stingers which seem to explode, good for vermin bad for table fare. I have a Marlin 1897 and a Winchester 1890 that can hold their own with Pacoized Winchester Wildcat ($2.50 a box on sale). The only thing that shoots better in my bull barreled Ruger than Nasti-nosed Remington Thunderbolt ( I bought 10 cases for a $1.00 a box) is Eley Tennex Match ($20.00 a box). Guess it depends on how much .22 ammo you go through in a year and what you are shooting with it.

Paco's tool does a whole lot more than poke a hole in the nose of the bullet. My Acu'rzr came with 3 nose punches and two different swage diameters. My Ruger MkII likes the .223" and my other guns seem to like .224" I've played around with different nose shapes but I like the cup point. BTW, my groups using Federal bulk cheap stuff shrank from about 2"-3" at 40 to mebbe 1"-1.25" outta my Marlin 981T (if I do my part!).

Watched the video and I'd buy one, but not for $90! Mebbe $29.95...
