Elsie Pea goes to the range
Took Elsie Pea to the range this morning and placed a couple of drink cans at 15 feet. After a couple of clips to get used to that gawd awful long trigger pulls, it was not hard to put holes in the cans and bounce them along in a quite merry manner. Ammo was Winchester white box FMJ. No damage of any kind to my shooting hand.
She's not a target pistol by any means, but for a ten oz belly gun, she will do just fine.

Re: Elsie Pea goes to the range
I thought the trigger on mine was just awful the first time I shot it too. It has not gotten any better with a couple hundred
rounds through it but I am quite surprised at the groups is fires. I expected to only keep most of the shots on a body sized target at 25 ft but find 4-5 in groups are common and I am not any where near a good pistol shot.
Good enough for its intended purpose.

I like the name...!
My daughter's Kel-Tec P9 must have the same trigger; brutal to shoot.

Re: Elsie Pea goes to the range
I have near 500rds through mine, and its never malfunctioned. Trigger is, to me, not that much different than my j-frame Smith and groups of 2-3 inches out to 10yds or so are easy with a bit of concentration. Carried in a pocket holster, it is awful handy to have around.

Sorry but I have to ask, what is an Elsie Pea?

Here, I had one and almost had to ask.....Mine barks the "stuff" out of my trigger finger....I find it very accurate when I don't flinch This is not, however, an arm to shoot much more than a few feet away, ie, point and shoot at the big part...

Same here! Elsie Pea, I thought it was going to be a nice Lady shooting her pistol!ollogger wrote:Im glad someone else asked the Elsie Pea question, It sure makes sense now

Anyway,
I liked the size and weight of the LCP but settled on the 1911 midget Sig P238.
It's the most pleasant shooting .380 I've ever had. Accurate too!

Re: Elsie Pea goes to the range
I've had one a couple of weeks and have been very pleased with it. I got it used and though it has the loooong Ruger trigger pull, it is not gritty like all the other center fire Ruger autos I have tried.
I was able to keep five in a 2" circle off hand at 7 yards the first day out and all the quick point shots stayed in the kill zone. It fed both ball and hollow point ammo and virtually dissappears in a pocket holster.
I like it for the purpose.

Re: Elsie Pea goes to the range
Sorry guys, Elsie Pea is a tag that has been hung on the LCP. I didn't invent it, just repeated it. By any name it is a dead reliable 7 shot belly gun in 380. Beats the heck out of any and every "derringer" that has come down the pike and have a reasonable, if not even low end price.
It will never replace a real fighting handgun, nor was it meant to. For what it is, it is a real crackerjack.

Re: Elsie Pea goes to the range
Seems there is a forum called "Elsie Pea" just for the LCP
Re: Elsie Pea goes to the range
http://rugerpistolforums.com/forums/lcp-pocket/
It's a new/different forum than the original ElsiePeaForum.com site, that I registered on - which was ONLY for LCP's.
Somehow, it's morphed into an all-Ruger compact pistol site, with many of the older threads long gone, either deleted or maybe archived somewhere unk.
An economy of the times, I suppose.
