in the prior topic What's wrong with this gun? (I'll tell you in a week)
I asked for advice on a pre-war Model 94 in .30WCF.
I bought it, and today it arrived.
I think "97%" was a bit optimistic but frankly for the $475 price that's what I expected, and I am quite pleased with it. Didn't even have to pay for transfer since I have the C&R license. Guy did a good pack job.
Serial no. is 12203xx, which according to Madis is 1940, the seller said 1941, and the ArmsCollectors.com website says 1942, so I have no idea which to believe.
I'll get some pics tomorrow in the sunlight. The barrel bands and lever have a good bit of finish missing. There are a few cosmetic scratches on the receiver. Might be a bit of pitting on the top tang. Wood is better than I expected. Not that I'm an expert but wouldn't feel too confident about 90%, but it's not much worse than that. As I said I feel like I got a great value.
Thanks all for the help!

I don't know about your part of the State, but over here you couldn't get that gun for that price. I'd say you did real well. The C&R elegibility would have cinched it for me. I hate paying transfer fees!
