Ruger 10/22 at 400 yards...?

Post by AJMD429 »

I think this guy's posts have been mentioned here before, but I ran across them again recently. Pretty ambitions shooting for a .22 LR...

I might consider trying for a rabbit at 125 yds with mine, but it would be a lucky shot.

I have a friend who as a teenager had a couple 5,000 round cases of .22LR ammo and a cheap pot-metal revolver, but got good enough to bust dirt clods way out there.

I can see how if you don't have the 1,500 yard range to do the .338 Lapua thing or the .45-70 rainbow-trajectory thing, a 300-400 yard range, or even a 200 yard one, could be pretty equivalent if using a .22 LR to do the shooting, in terms of the ballistics and wind-doping needed. Pretty fun-sounding, anyway (like about any other gun-related thing  ).
