I'm okay with it until I get to the buttstock. I don't get it. Looks like that dog gone thing would catch on everything and just plain be a pain. Let us know how yours works when you get it. :D

I agree. Butt stock looks terrible and impractical Otherwise I like having more choices for a 9mm carbine. 40 is good too but I don't use the caliber

What a piece of pelosi! It looks like someone took a Ruger 10-22 and stuck it in a HK body. It will sell like crazy but I want nothing to do with it.

Personally, I like the thought of a pistol cartridge in a Handy Leveraction Carbine. However, in my mind, when I convert to the tactical side with a semiauto, a .223/5.56 is the minimum acceptable cartridge. This rifle looks to be a little better executed than the HIGHPOINT CARBINE, however, I am going to bet the price is going to be close to the M4/M16 base models. I am with you Joe, THUMBS DOWN!

Take a hacksaw to that buttstock, chamber it in 45 ACP, and I'd think about getting one....

So far I see a proprietary steel 10 round magazine. I'm calling this one a flop. If it doesn't take Glock mags, what's the point.

This one's been around a bit in S. America.

It's still a flaming hunk of Taurus Excrementus.

It's black. It's semiauto. It's plastic. It's tacticool. They'll sell a ton of them. Coming soon to a range near you.

I agree that a 'tactical' firearm I'd want for self/home protection would have to be better than one of the many other alternatives out there for me to want one:

The M-1A & Garand are far heavier, Mini-14's are light weight but not compact, and even the AR-15's in 'shorty' configuration aren't all that compact, and of course all are far more powerful.

The Marlin Camp Rifle is available in .45 ACP, and uses standard magazines, and the Ruger 9mm/40S&W Carbine is about the size of an M-1 Carbine and uses standard magazines, and if you want a truly high-capacity and compact 9mm, Calico 950 pistols are still available and hold either 50 or 100 rounds.

If I wanted a compact 9mm or .40 S&W though, rather than get any of the above, however, I'd go for the KelTecs several others on this forum have bought and reviewed.

For now, it's either the Rossi .45 Colt levergun, or the Marlin Camp Rifle in .45 ACP for me... 8)

I guesd Han forgot to put that thing back on the Millenium Falcon last time he was in Mos Iseley.

It seems funny how every gun company thinks THEY can make a better EBR than anyone else, when the concept has been pretty well perfected by the companies which specialize in that sort of firearm.

I can sort of see producing a 'clone' of an AR or Garand or something, as there will always be a market for them, and any 'compatible' improvement like the AR's with gas-piston uppers, makes some sense, but it seems really brave/stupid/optimistic to produce a totally new EBR design.

Having said that, hopefully they'll sell a bunch - the more stuff like that people get to shoot, the more who will come to enjoy the shooting sports, and hopefully learn some of the 'politics' involved, which will ultimately make them better citizens...

What party doesn't Taurus join??? As is the case here, they're usually riding the coattails of Beretta.
