Which 35 Rem Powder ?
Put money down on a 1980 Marlin 336 in 35 Rem. today. Great condition. I do all my loading and shooting at my cabin 75 miles North of here. My Problem is my Manuals are up there also. I bought some 200 Grain Core Lokts for the rifle, but have no idea where to start with Powder. I am guessing H335 from the search menu here, but the guys at the Gunshop say LVR. Never heard of it. I know its new, but any of you try it yet ? I may still get the H335 no matter what, and start with that. Have no itch to buy the gummy tips, all my hunting is inside of 150 yards.

I'm using H4895 or H322 in my 35 loads with the 200 gr CL.

Re: Which 35 Rem Powder ?
If you do end up trying the LVR powder -- I got my best results with the 200 grain R.N. bullet with 46 grains of the LVR, CCI 200 primer, R-P case, seated to the crimp groove and crimped in that groove with the Lee Factory Crimp die for 2230 fps. This was one load where use of that factory crimp die made a definite enough improvement that I include that recommendation with the loading data.
Also you might note that Hodgdon shows 45 grains as their max load with this powder and giving 2235 fps, though from the pressures they give I thought they must have stopped there because of powder compression. (They do note that it is a compressed load). The 46 grains is compressed, obviously, but not terribly compressed. It seems to be a fine load in 3 out of the 4 rifles I have tried it in: a Marlin 336, a 336A, and a Remington 141. One rifle, a Savage, did not like this load and gave a mediocre group with it.

41.5 grains WIN 748 with 180 grain Speer flat tip is a favorite of mine.
37.5 grains IMR-3031 with 200 grain Sierra Pro Hunter is another accurate load.
