Just curious about your opinions and both pairs are now made in Mexico but between Levi's 517 bootcut jeans and Wrangler Cowboy Cut jeans, which pair is the better pair?

I've got to give Wrangler the edge. Material and mfg quality seems better. I like 13mwz's and the new 47mwz's, in Levis it's the 501s. I also like Wrangler's politics over Levi's, so much so I bought VF stock.

I like Key Logger Jeans. The brass suspender buttons are on them, very loose and roomy, and they last for years.

Levi's in my opinion have cheapened.Don't know about Wrangler's???
I have switched to Arizona's(they are actually made decent)
And at JCPenny's I get them when they run their (2)for $38 deal
I like their Carpenter type.(they fit well and LAST)

Cinch jeans for me - I gotta admit, i never paid attention to their place of manufacture, but checked the tag this morning --- Mexico as well
My legs are a little big in relation to my waist (not in a freakish way, but just enough to make a lot of regular fit jeans uncomfortable) -- I tried on what seemed like their whole catalog one day and when i found what worked, i just sucked it up and bought 3 pairs

Jeans are a tough decision --- one you have to live with everyday , or every other day in my case . They are one of those items that don't cost a whole lot- , but can really give some misery if you pick wrong ---- good luck making your pick

For riding or hiking, I am partial to button fly jeans.. I will NOT buy Levi's, so most of my britches come from Wah-Maker, and are made in the USA.. They have suspender buttons, and no belt loops, and wear like iron... They have a high rise, and come unhemmed...

dang Buck ---- my wife and friends call me a throwback ! (which is all a matter of perspective, i know) I wasn't familiar with the WahMaker brand so had to look it up ---- now when my wife starts razzing me again (goodnaturedly) -- i can honestly say to her that "she hasn't seen anything yet !" --
but heck, prices are equivalent to modern western wear jeans made in mexico --- i may have to try a pair next time i am in the market for jeans

Diff folks/diff strokes - Levis are uncomfortable in the crotch & while sitting for me; Wranglers not so.

Wranglers for me, the George Strait signature version is my favorite, it is a little broader in the behind and is a softer denim. And if'in you need some good bib overalls, Roundhouse is the brand to get, made about 10 miles from me in Shawnee, Oklahoma. God Bless.

Levis has given to the Brady antigun bunch in past years. I wore 501's for over 40 yrs., but after I found out they were antigun I stopped buying them. $10 Rustlers are what I buy now. They fit and wear better than Levis too!

Levi's...politics aside, they are the only ones that have the proper crotch to waist length for me. And, that depends on what store you buy them from, Tractor Supply will only buy heavy denim made in USA.

Never had the cash for Levi's and had been a Wrangler wearer for years. They're ok if all you are doing is sitting and walking around but they hold up like crud. Get one small snag from a nail, fence, etc and that hole will be huge in a couple of weeks and they're knees just don't hold up at all. Now I wear Dickies. Only slightly more expensive and about twice as tough. I don't know if they make my butt look good and I don't care. I put em on par with Carharts at half the cost.

I used to be a Levi wearer. But the last couple of pairs I bought the quality was just not there.
They were also made in some place I could not pronounce. Never again will I buy Levis.
I have since switched to Wrangler at least they are made on our own continent. I also
wear Diamond gusset jeans but they are a bit pricey, but at least they are made here.

The Carhartt double front canvas work pants for me, either brown or black. Denim just doesnt last as long as the canvas, and I've noticed the black Carhartts don't last as long as the browns that come feeling like boards when you first get them. I really like the leg pockets, and the fit compared to jeans. Jeans feel like a straight jacket after wearing the Carhartts, especially when putting your hand in the pocket. Jeans pockets feel about half the size of the Carhartt pockets.

I used to buy Levi's 517 for years. But when they changed their manufacturing, they weren't the same. So now I just buy Rustler jeans...I can by 3 pair of Rustler for what 1 pair of Levi's would cost. And they last about as long anyway.

Grew up on Levi 501's, still wear them for good, to spendy to wear for everyday. But do migrate them to the everyday pile as they fade.
Everyday jeans are mostly Rustlers from Walmart or Pamida .
Picked up a pair of Old Mill's at Menards the other day, they'll do well for everyday britches, and they're loose enough fitting in the butt that they'll likely do well for a long day in the saddle.

In spite of my advanced age and decrepitude, I still wear jeans. Paid out the nose for some black wranglers recently, and they will let no dog hair go past. Frankly the Rustlers for 11-12 bucks are better pants. I have begun to be attracted to the cargo slacks, they are a (bit) dressier and they got all them POCKETS! I had forgotten how BDU's can carry so much STUFF if need be- knife, small LED, keys etctera, etcetera...

carrharts or wahmakers or dickies....but i only wear these running around town or on fridays when every one seems to dress down [ i still wear a neck tie and dress shirt even on fridays, even wearing carrharts ] for outdoor bumming, hiking, hunting, i NEVER wear jeans per se. i always choose wool or a synthetic [ if the weather allows ] like the 24/7 tru-spec or similar. our climate is too cold and often way too wet to safely or comfortably wear jeans.

I wear Levis. Even though I don't like their queer hugging anti gun politics, I do like the pants. I have worn Levis for about 60 years. I don't own any slick britches, wear starched and ironed Levis a white dress shirt for church on Sunday and Wednesday nite. They fit me better than Lee or Wrangler. 501's have sure changed for the worse through the years and I may have to try something else before long. Working cows, building railroad, or running heavy equipment Levis have done good so far.

Wrangler George Strait's for riding Horses, the cut and sewing of the seams are done with consideration of this pursuit in mind. Carrhart denim jeans are made from heavier cloth and are good for cooler weather when afoot. When it's cold and wet, nothing beats wool.

My understanding,several years back, Levi did some antigun stuff and thus for the last 10 plus years it has been strictly Wrangler.
