Thanks to all on Leverguns

Post by TX50Cal »

13 years ago today I lost my Father. He was a good man and very respected in our community. He was a mechanic and would help anyone who asked (and even some who didn't). I know if my Dad would have been an internet kind of guy he would have loved this site as I do. All of you on this site seem to be more of an extended family than a bunch of strangers. It seems to me that the willingness to share each others lives and passion for leverguns is better than any other site on the web. We have our jokers, our serious ones, our grouchy curmudgeons :) , our patriots, and of course our brothers and sisters from across the sea. The thing is even when we disagree we do it with style. I have learned a lot about being a good person just by reading some of your posts. Thanks for being who you are. Sorry for the strange post but it is something I've wanted to say for awhile and remembering Dad got me to do it.

I couldn't agree more and I've said it before just as you have. This forum is like a home. Sometimes the kids don't always get along, but we love each other in the end anyway. And, we do it with manners. This site has more knowledge and versatility in it's topics than anywhere else. I count my blessings for finding this place. Praying only good things happen to my levergun brothers and sisters. Thanks, TX50cal.

Definitely a bunch 'to ride the river with'. Even our 'political' dust-ups don't usually amount to much more than disagreeing about the details of how best to get to pretty much shared goals. Intelligence, interest in leverguns, and most of all integrity seem to be pretty universal here.

What I find most interesting (and won't repeat my previous musings/postings on), is why it happens to be that of all the 'gun' sites and 'outdoors' sites, it happens to be a levergun one that turns out this way. I have my theories...

Dave - I think I know exactly what you're feeling. My Dad passed away in October 2010, and Mom in August of 2009. Except for my two brothers and a few very close friends, I didn't talk about it much to alot of people. There was still too much stuff going on inside me at the time.

But I did share these events with the gang here, because, like alot of this crew, I feel like I actually know a bunch of these good people. I can't think of any other forum where I'd even think about sharing things so personal. Darn good bunch here. - DixieBoy

I am very blessed to have found this site. I have learned much and gained many friends here. You said it right Dixieboy. this site is filled with some of the best I have ever met. Much like those brothers I served with in distant places. The BEST.
