Madman's cheap healthy good quick meal
With things going on in this world as of late, many people need a cheap/quick/healthy meal alternative that can be served 2-3 times a week that will build you strong.
Go to Sam's Club(or wherever best deal)
I get the 25lb bags of brown rice(could use white)?
also the large value bags(can used canned)of Chili beans and Chick peas.
Let's make it easy for example:
3 cups of rice(3 cups of water)--------6 servings
1 16oz can of Bush's Chili Beans(keep liquid)
1 16oz can of Garbanzos(chick peas)drain liquid
Some good sized splashes of Soy Sauce and also Hot sauce
1 tablespoon of localized honey(or any honey if only available)
Cook Rice
When done add all other ingrediants, stir and garnish on top with some shredded mild cheddar cheese.
microwave in a microwavable casserole dish for 4-5 minutes.
Cheap/good/quick/and taste just as good the second day!
Have with a nice cold dark lager beer.(good till the last drop)
Having some right now!

In your rice steamer, put some barley and lentils with the rice...
A few fresh veggies and a little fish or chicken...mmmmm
I like those bean dishes, too.

That's one of my favorite meals. I like to add a quart of canned home-grown tomatoes - best thing a man can eat in the winter.

I was thinking the same thing.... beano
And you'll need 6 cups of water to cook 3 cups of rice - and that's a lot of rice!
Another good but cheap meal is eggs and grits. Both are pretty cheap. You can add a slice of toast for very little more.

ya, that's some real good stuff also.
The 3/3 rice, water I had for the above formula was Instant Rice/canned Veg's just for the quick example!
Though, myself I go through the longer process!

I like fried eggs on my brown rice. Great breakfast.

Re: Madman's cheap healthy good quick meal
...gotta push my favorite. It's especially good for those mornings when I get up and scramble quickly to get out the door:
1) Coffee, set to brew the night before
2) Two pieces of whole wheat bread into toaster
3) While waiting for toast, slice or chop fresh jalapeno
4) Slap crunchy peanut butter onto toast
5) Sprinkle jalapeno on peanut butter, slam other slice on top
Pour coffee in a travel mug; you're good to go. Quick, delicious; it's gotta be in somebody's recommended food groups. A power meal that wakes you up!

I DID see this and I will be the first to say that "Beano" needs to be outlawed. It takes ALL of the fun out of eating beans.
Funny thing, the other day I was indulging in some beans, cabbage, a few hard boiled eggs, and broccoli and then I cruised on down to Targetmaster to bs with Tommy. While in his office I let one loose and blew the calculator right off his desk. ---bamm! He was so mad he got up to give me a whoopin' but his eyes were so teared up he could not see where I was----slipping out the door
