The .45-70 is an underpowered gun for weenies...

Post by AJMD429 »

. . . . . .

AND SO IS THE ".50 BMG"...!!!!! :o :o

I found this post over on Single-Actions, about someone's Anzio-20. Pretty awesome.

I think it's in the same category for me as that '69 Mustang Mach One I always wanted - only if I win the lottery big-time. :( Still looks like FUN though. :D

We used these to hold off wild horses at Peason Ridge in Louisiana.

Not a rifle - there is no barrel. And of course. But like the mortar - this is a smooth bore.

So, I guess you can get a stamp for that? Anything over 50 cal is a "destructive" device right?

Not that a 50 BMG is a cat sneeze... :P

And just to up the anti....

Actually, it would most possibly do an even bigger shroom... right? Hard to fathom the power of modern nukes... God help us keep them in the can.

God help us keep them in the can.
I'm inclined to think it's inevitable that some zealot will let them out of the can in Gods name.

Not on your life brother. I think it'd take a team just to pack that thing around. It'd take more of a horseman than me. Danny? :D

Is it just me or is that just a bit too much?

Years ago I was a pretty good hand with a 105 Howitzer and capable on a 155 but I don't want one!!!

I must be old and foolish but I can't stand pictures of rifles with gadgets stuck on them like Christmas tree ornaments. But this thing needs to be bolted in the bed of a Toyota pickup and sent to Libya. It is not a sporting rifle if it needs a crew to mobilize and use.

Is that considered a destructive device? If so, I want it even more!

BTW Doc, my first car was a Mustang Mach 1. Well used. I think it was more bondo than metal. Unfortunately, I wrapped it around a tree... :(

Would you like to talk to the lead engineer on the design team for the Trident? He is my Uncle. He is the smart one in the family. He even came up with the idea to use star charts to guide the re-entry for targeting. No chance of an enemy taking out the stars to mess up the guidance. By the way, that 20mm would be fun to try. I wonder how loud it is?
