I picked up this old U.S. Border Patrol badge used during prohibition out of El Paso, Texas. It was hard duty during that time. Charles Askins, Border Patrol, and Tom Threepersons, mounted customs inspector, told about being in gunfights everyday in that area. They were first called Mounted Customs Inspectors then in 1924 it changed to U.S. Border Patrol under the Dept. Of Immigration; later on it came under the Dept of Justice. Now they are under the Dept. of Homeland Security. I may be getting some documents about a gunfight during this time period between a group of Texas Rangers, Border Patrol, Custom inspectors and some Mexican bandits. The bandits lost.
Border patrol officers Irvin H. Cone and Parker.

Dang RR7, that is neat. Think I like the photo better than the badge.

Griff, beat me to it. Another piece of history for the RR7 museum of western memorabilia. Love that photo of Cone and Parker.
